Milton’s Swimming Journey | Rivers Gifted & Talented

We’re delighted to share an update on one of our Gifted & Talented scheme athletes, Milton, who continues to make fantastic progress in his swimming journey.

This summer, Milton ended his season on a real high. At just 13 years old, he qualified for eight events at the GoCardless National Summer Championships 2025 at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge – a huge achievement at such a competitive level. Not only that, but he went on to reach the finals in the 100m freestyle, showing the hard work and commitment he’s put into training.

For the new season, Milton has returned to his home club at Evesham Swimming Club, where he’ll be making the most of the facilities at Evesham Leisure Centre. As part of his training programme, he’ll be spending time in the gym each week, using his Gold Gifted & Talented membership to access strength and conditioning support alongside his pool sessions.

This season also sees Milton working with a dedicated strength and conditioning coach to further develop his performance. With a gym induction lined up and a clear training plan in place, he’s ready to make the most of the opportunities available to him here at Rivers.

We’re incredibly proud to have Milton as part of our Gifted & Talented scheme and can’t wait to follow his progress over the coming season.

The Rivers Gifted & Talented scheme supports young athletes across a range of sports, giving them access to facilities and expert guidance to help them reach their potential.
