OUR CARERS POLICY

If you require a carer to assist you during your activity at one of our centres, you are able to bring your carer for free to assist you.

CARER INFORMATION

A carer supporting individuals will be required to remain with their client at all times and are not permitted to participate in their own exercise.

Proof of identification will be required. Your carer must be able to provide at least one of the following:

  • An I.D card with their name, and the company that they work for.

  • A letter to confirm their carer status.

  • If you have no proof of being a carer, please speak to the duty manager prior to your visit for authorisation to accompany and support an individual whilst using our facilities.

  • If the activity is a bookable one, you will require prior permission to attend this session.

Health Statement

Your health is your own responsibility

Please do not exercise beyond what you consider to be your own abilities.

If you are aware of or may have medical conditions that may impact you exercising safely, then please seek advice from the relevant medical professional before using the equipment and follow that advice.

As every gym is different and exercise equipment can differ too, we always recommend that new members attend an induction (under 18s are required to have an induction with an instructor).

All machines have instructions on how to use them. If you are unsure, please ask an instructor.

Membership T&Cs

  • Persons wishing to become members must complete an application form accompanied by payment covering the joining fee, and pro-rated monthly membership fee subsequent monthly membership fees are payable in advance by Direct Debit. Direct Debit payments will be debited on the first of each month.

    If a member does not attend the centre having purchased a membership, they will not be entitled to a refund of membership fees. This does not affect the 14 day money back guarantee.

    Wychavon Leisure Community Association Ltd (WLCAL) may from time to time increase the fees and tariffs due to increases in the costs of overheads or other costs. We will give you at least 10 days written notice of any fee and/or tariff increase. You may end this contract at any time before the increase comes into effect by giving us 14 days notice in writing.

    Joint Memberships: To be eligible for the Joint Membership both members will need to part of the same household.

    Family Memberships: A Family Membership is for 2 adults & 2 children up to 16 years old. Please see admissions policy for age allowances into certain activities & when parental supervision is required.

    *PLEASE NOTE: A monthly supplement fee of £10.00 applies for each child aged 16 & 17. Additional children can be added at an extra £12.00 per month.

    Junior Memberships: This membership is for juniors up to the age of 15 years old. 16 & overs will need to take out a single (or still a full time student, a Concessionary membership). Please see admissions policy for age allowances into certain activities.

    Concessionary Memberships: You must meet one of the following eligibility requirements: Universal Credit, Full Time Student, Personal Independent Payment (PIP), Pension Credit or Employment & Support Allowance.

  • Persons wishing to become 6 month/annual members must complete an application form accompanied by full payment for the chosen payment option. Upfront memberships attract a discounted rate, therefore if you terminate this membership early you will not be entitled to a refund (this does not affect your statutory rights).

  • It is for the customer to decide if they are fit enough to undertake the activity that they wish to take part in.

    Rivers members may be required to wear a wristband during each visit to indicate their ‘inclusive activity’ status.

    If a membership is cancelled, the joining fee will be payable again on renewal of membership.

    Members will only be permitted to use the facilities provided their membership is current and fully paid up.

    WLCAL reserves the right to reject any application or withdraw without refund any membership in the event of failure to comply with membership conditions or anti-social behaviour.

    Members are required to pay the relevant scheduled charges for all non-inclusive activities and must retain the receipt for proof of purchase whilst in the Centre.

    Admission is always subject to the facility operating within safe capacities and during times of peak demands, activity session times may be controlled.

    Wychavon Leisure reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.

    Members are advised to book to guarantee their place for gym sessions, public swim sessions, instructor led classes or racket sports. Members are required to give 3 hours notice if they are unable to attend the session or the current rate for the session/class will be payable.

  • This guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instruction by Direct Debit.

    If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit with Wychavon Leisure will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Wychavon Leisure to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.

    If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by Wychavon Leisure or your bank/building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid by your bank or building society. If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Wychavon Leisure asks you to.

    You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.

  • Members must present the membership card to reception on each visit to the Centre before using the facilities. Any loss of membership cards must be reported to WLCAL immediately. There is a standard charge for each replacement card. If you have forgotten to bring your card & still wish to use the facilities, you will be charged for a replacement card.

    Members must not allow anyone else to use their membership card or membership number. Cards being used by any other person other than the authorised member will result in that membership being cancelled and no refunds will be made.

  • In the absence of any negligence or breach of any other legal duty, WLCAL shall not be responsible for or liable to the member for any loss or damage to a member’s possessions which are not locked into one of the lockers provided.

    The member will not place a combination of items worth more that £100 into a locker.

    It is the member’s responsibility to check that the locker is properly locked and secure before leaving their possessions in it.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • If a member wishes to upgrade or downgrade their membership type, WLCAL requires 30 days notice in writing.

  • WLCAL requires a minimum of 30 days notice in writing should the member wish not to renew their membership to enable the centre to update their systems. In such circumstances it is the member’s responsibility to cancel their Direct Debit with their bank. If the member has cancelled their Direct Debit before giving notice or has not paid their fee up to date on the day which the contract ends the member must pay the balance of the sums owing to WLCAL within 7 days.

    You have the right to cancel your contract within 14 days of joining.

    You can do this by email to info@wychavonleisure.co.uk or in writing to Wychavon Leisure Community Association Ltd, King George’s Way, Pershore, Worcestershire, WR10 1QU.

    If you follow this policy your payment will be returned.

  • Leisure Centre: 3 hours notice (as of 01/06/23) of any class or court cancellation must be given if user is unable to attend. No refunds will be given but monies can be carried forward to another booking provided that the new booking is within the two day booking period. Casual users must pay at the time of booking.

    Droitwich Lido: 6 hours notice of any class or court cancellation must be given if user is unable to attend. No refunds will be given but swim session can be moved up to a maximum of 2 days.

Admissions Policy

  • Casual users are entitled to make 2 day advanced bookings for Rivers group exercise classes, gym sessions, public swim sessions & court facilities. If a booking has been made customers must abide by the members booking terms & conditions specified below:

    Card must be swiped at reception on arrival before participating in any booked activity.

    Members are advised to book to guarantee their place for gym sessions, public swim sessions, instructor led classes or racket sports. Members are required to give 6 hours notice if they are unable to attend the session or the current rate for the session/class will be payable.

  • Children under eight years of age are not allowed to swim in public sessions unless accompanied in the water by a responsible adult (age 16+). This person may not supervise more than two children under the age of eight.

    One child under the age of 4 years, and one child under 1 year can be admitted for free with an adult swim admission for these sessions - Public swim/Family swim.

  • Splash sessions run on weekends during term time and daily during the school holidays. For the centre times, please visit our swim timetables.

    Splash sessions are not included in a Rivers membership. Adults, Children (including babies) will be charged per session.

  • Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult (aged 16 or over), maximum of two under 8’s per adult.

    No alcohol on the lido premises. This is a safety issue so anyone with alcohol will be asked to leave & no refund will be given.

    Appropriate swimwear to be worn at all times.

    All smokers must use the designated smoking area located behind the changing room block which is accessed from the upper terrace. Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere else on the site. Anyone breaking this rule will be asked to leave and will not be refunded.

    Children aged 2-7 yrs will be required to wear a wristband for easy identification in the water.

    There is no diving in the Lido swimming pool.

    Please inform a lifeguard of any medical conditions.

    No glass containers.

    No pets allowed in the Lido, unless it’s a specific dog’s swim event.

    Please book 2 days in advance. We are unable to offer refunds for change of weather, you can move your booking 2 days if you would like to.

    No inflatables/balls in the pool during busy periods (At the Duty Manager’s discretion).

    Deckchair hire costs £2.00 per day.

    No unsupervised photography (member of staff to authorise).

    No music systems.

    Adverse Weather Conditions – If thunder and lightning strike, swimmers must leave the pool, and activities will be suspended.

  • A fitness room induction is recommended before using the gym.

    Having completed the induction the customer will be given a Rivers card. This card must be handed in at reception on each visit. Failure to produce this card will result in entry being refused.

    All under 18’s are required to undergo an induction before using the gym.

    JUNIOR GYM

    11 – 15 years olds may use the Fitness Rooms, however parental consent is required.

    Those aged 11 – 13 years must be accompanied by a participating parent if using the gym outside of the supervised session times. See supervised session times here.

    Those aged 14-15, may use the gym at any time (with parental consent).

    Supervised Junior Gym Sessions 11 - 13 years – Available at all sites.

  • Participants must be aged 14 and above to join our regular group exercise classes.

    Any customers who are 14 – 15 years of age must produce a completed parental consent form for exercise classes (this is excluding weight-bearing exercise classes, e.g. Les Mills BodyPump - for which you must be 16 years or older to participate).

    Special exercise classes for kids will specific the dates & instructors will all have DBS checks. Parental Consent is required on first session.

    Classes last 50 minutes to allow a 10 minute change over period.

  • Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to use this facility.

    A responsible adult (16+) must accompany children under the age of 16.

    Children who are 12 – 15 years of age must produce a completed parental consent form.

  • Court bookings are for 50 minutes to allow a 5 minute change over period either side of the booking.

  • Lessons are 30 minutes each.

    Courses run continuously throughout the year. available in 10 week block bookings or on a monthly direct debit.

    All equipment for the lessons e.g. arm bands, floats etc. are provided.

    Swimming Lessons are non-refundable, please ensure that your child can attend all lessons pre-booked.

    Swimming Lesson direct debits will receive free public swimming. Public sessions include General Swim & Family Swims.

    Before your child starts lessons they will need to wear the appropriate swimming costume or trunks with no long shorts or wetsuits.

    Public swim sessions include general swim, family swim, adult swim, lane swim & adult saver. Splash hours are NOT included as a public session.

    Long hair must be tied back or a swimming cap must be worn.

    Please ensure your child has visited the toilet before entering the water.

    If your child is feeling unwell please consider whether they are fit enough to attend the lesson.

    If the child has goggles they must be able to take them on and off themselves as the teacher will not be able to do this for them.

    Children are reminded to use lockers to store their clothing as this will reduce any possibility of theft or damage.

  • Children attending this session must be of pre school age.

    One parent and child will be admitted for the parent and child price.

    Extra adults or an extra child will be charged at an additional rate.

  • Children under 7 only

    Only children are allowed on the inflatable soft play apparatus

  • Parents must not leave the centre when child is in childminding service. Parents may use the facilities.

  • Showers are available on payment and must be taken using the dry side changing room showers only.

  • All Wychavon Leisure facilities are accessible to wheelchair users, with lifts and ramps where appropriate.

    All Wychavon Leisure facilities are fitted with designated/accessible disabled toilets.

    All our centres with swimming pools have disabled changing facilities with hoists and/or adjustable changing beds, and hoist access to the swimming pool.

    If you have a specific request regarding disabled access/use please contact the relevant centre directly.

    Carers will not be charged for supporting/guiding.

  • Those who live within Wychavon may be entitled to a Concessionary Cards if you are in receipt of one of the following: Universal Credit, Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independent Payment (PIP), Employment & Support Allowance (ESA), Pension Credit (ESA), Worcester County Council Registered Foster carers & children, Young adults leaving the care system or a student in full-time education.

    Card holders may use the building at reduced rates at all times.

    Proof of eligibility is required.

    Concessionary cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase

  • If you are a registered foster carer who lives within Worcestershire, you can apply for a FREE Rivers concessionary card for each qualifying family member (reviewed annually). This will allow you, your cared for children and your biological/adopted children under 16 years and who live with you, access to swimming (in public sessions and does not include splash sessions), gym (age/session restrictions may apply) and racket sports at a concessionary rate.     To apply for your concessionary card(s) please visit your chosen Rivers leisure centre, with proof of you foster carer status (carers identification card). You will then be able to apply for a free concessionary card for each eligible person.

  • People holding a booking card may make bookings seven days in advance. Payment is required on booking.

    Booking card members are able to move bookings up to 8 days in advance if required. Refunds will not be given.

    Only members may use their card to book courts.

  • The use of photographic equipment including cameras and mobile phone cameras are strictly prohibited in all facilities without the prior permission of the Duty Manager.

    When signing up to a membership or paying for admission to an activity, you consent to photography taken by a member of the Rivers team, which could be used on social media, advertisement, press releases, website & promotional materials.

    Rivers team will only take photos during activities such as gym sessions, exercise classes, swimming sessions, swim lessons, racket & court sports, climbing & the health suite. We will ask for permissions from parents/guardians for any kids activities.

  • Lost property can be claimed at the reception of the relevant site.

    Lost property will be kept on site for one month, after this period valuable items will be stored at head office for three months.

    After the three month period all unclaimed valuable lost property is donated to charity.

Rivers On-Demand

If you are unfamiliar with the exercises in these videos, please contact a member of staff at a Rivers Fitness venue for more information, before participating for the first time. If you choose to exercise to this video you do so at your own risk & acknowledge that the exercises can carry an inherent risk of physical injury – particularly if you have a history of health problems or previous injuries.

Competitions

Each competition or promotional offer is open to all users of Wychavon Leisure Community Association Ltd (WLCAL) operated facilities unless specifically excluded. Employees of WLCAL, their immediate family members, agencies or anyone professionally connected with the competition are excluded from entering or taking part in all competitions.

Any competitions involving physical activity must be completed following current best practice guidelines and to WLCAL health and safety requirements. Any competitions requiring signed verification from a member of staff must be carried out in an appropriate manner. Competitions may require the participant to join or have an account with a social media platform (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube or TikTok)

In cases of dispute the Marketing Manager will make the final decision and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner may be required to participate in publicity associated with the competition. By entering all participants will be deemed to have accepted and bound by the rules. Prizes won cannot be exchanged for an alternative gift or cash in value. The winners will be notified within 28 days of the competition closing date.

Free Passes & Open Days

  • When the 7-day free pass is activated, you will have 7 days consecutive access to our public gym sessions, public swim sessions, all exercise classes listed in our online exercise class timetable, all Les Mills virtual classes, public health suite sessions and off-peak racket sport sessions (badminton, table tennis & Droitwich Leisure Centre’s squash sessions). Off peak hours are between the hours of 9:00am to 4:00pm weekdays and all-day Saturday and Sunday.

    To claim the 7-day free pass, claimant must fill out the designated enquiry form in full on the web page: https://www.riversfitness.co.uk/7dayfreepass. A Customer Advisor will be in touch with you with 48 hours to confirm activation date.

    The claimant must be over the age of 18 and must not currently have an active membership with Rivers already. This pass is one per person.

    All 7-day free pass users must adhere to our admissions policy and acknowledge our Terms and conditions before using our facilities.

  • You will receive access to our gym during public sessions (under 18s will be required to have a gym induction before using the gym).

    You will receive access to our swimming pool during public sessions.

    You will receive access to our exercise classes, subject to availability (externally organised exercise classes not included).

    You will receive access to our health suite during public sessions.

    You will receive access to our racket courts and sports hall during off peak (week days until 4pm & weekend sessions).

    The day pass will expire after your use of the facilities. This pass is one per person.

  • Free entry into general public sessions on specified days only

    Activities other than swimming are only available to Rivers members who pay for all inclusive use of the centre (monthly direct debit, six monthly and annual up front payments and joint memberships)

    Casual members and concessionary card holders not eligible for Family Free Days other than swimming

    Member’s family eligible for offer includes spouses, live in partners & their children taking part in an activity within the centre.

    Unlimited number of activities can be participated in on the day for members

    The family member with a Rivers Membership must be taking part in an activity at the centre as part of the admitted group.

    If children are over 8yrs they can go swimming whilst parents use other facilities e.g. the gym.

    Children under eight years of age are not allowed to swim in public sessions unless accompanied in the water by a responsible adult (age 16+). This person may not supervise more than two children under the age of eight.
