Introducing Our New Gold G&T Athlete: Gabriele Zamora Raponi

We’re proud to welcome Gabriele Zamora Raponi to the Rivers Gifted & Talented programme as a Gold level athlete.

Gabriele is a dedicated and ambitious young basketball player currently representing Ballers Heaven Warwickshire Warriors. His application highlights not only strong performances but also a clear commitment to continuous improvement and long term success in his sport.

A Strong Track Record Already

Despite his young age, Gabriele has already achieved a number of impressive milestones, including:

• 2x MVP in the England Talent Pathway

• 2x Most Improved Player awards

• 2nd place in an inter-regional Aspire tournament

• Multiple swimming medals and school sporting awards

This combination of achievements reflects both his athletic ability and his work ethic across different disciplines.

Focused on Progress and Performance

Gabriele’s approach to training is centred around consistency and development. He plans to make full use of Rivers’ facilities, including gym sessions and basketball practice before school, alongside incorporating swimming into his routine for recovery and conditioning.

Living locally also allows him to train regularly and maintain a high level of commitment.

Looking Ahead

Gabriele has clear ambitions for the future. His goal is to progress through competitive youth basketball, gain a place in a strong U18 team and ultimately secure a university scholarship at a high level, with the long term aim of playing professionally.

Supporting the Next Generation

The Rivers Gifted & Talented programme is designed to support athletes like Gabriele by providing access to facilities and helping them progress in their chosen sport.
