Gifted & Talented Spotlight: Sian O’Tooley
We’re proud to continue supporting gifted and talented member Sian, who uses Evesham Leisure Centre as part of her training as she progresses in her professional boxing career.
Alongside competing at a high level, Sian works full time as a maths teacher, balancing the demands of the classroom with early morning sessions, training camps and time in the ring. Over the past year she has defended her Midlands title and moved to an impressive 7-0 record as a professional, achievements that reflect her discipline, focus and determination.
Sian regularly trains at Evesham Leisure Centre, using our facilities to support her strength, conditioning and overall preparation. As a community first organisation, we’re always proud to support local athletes who show commitment both within sport and in their wider roles.
Speaking about the past year, Sian said:
“Over the past year I’ve focused on pushing my professional boxing career to the next level while continuing to work full time as a maths teacher. I’m proud to have defended my Midlands title and moved to 7–0 as a professional — milestones that reflect the discipline, preparation, and support around me. Balancing early mornings, training camps, and classroom responsibilities hasn’t always been easy, but it’s strengthened my mindset and commitment to improvement.
I’m grateful for the team and sponsors backing me on this journey. Their support allows me to keep chasing progress inside and outside the ring, and I’m excited to build on this momentum in the year ahead.”
Away from competition, Sian is also making a positive impact within her school community. She has launched a lunchtime boxing club at Bishop Perowne C of E College, which has grown quickly and now supports a large number of students. The sessions provide a constructive outlet for young people, helping them build confidence, channel their energy and develop positive routines during the school day.
We’re delighted to continue supporting Sian as part of our gifted and talented programme, celebrating the achievements of local individuals who inspire others through sport, wellbeing and community involvement.
