A Fresh New Look for Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre
Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre is now open following a major programme of refurbishment works.
The centre has reopened with a completely refurbished gym, new fitness equipment, an upgraded main swimming pool and a new studio pool. The improvements provide customers with updated facilities and a wider range of ways to exercise at the centre.
A completely refurbished gym
The gym has been fully refurbished and includes a new layout and a wide range of Pulse Fitness equipment.
The updated facilities include an updated cardio area, strength equipment, free weights and a functional training area. The range of equipment to suit each user and provides a personalised training programme based on their ability and goals.
After completing an induction, members can use the equipment as part of their regular gym sessions and monitor their progress through the EGYM app. Members can log in using their phone, so a wristband is not required.
The Rivers Fitness team is available to provide inductions, explain how to use the new equipment and help members get started.
Improved swimming facilities
The centre’s 25-metre main swimming pool has been refurbished and is now open for public swimming, lane swimming, swimming lessons and other scheduled sessions.
A new 12m x 8m studio pool has also been added. The pool has a depth of 0.9 - 1.1 metres and will be used for swimming lessons, aqua exercise, family activities and a range of supported sessions.
The additional pool provides more flexibility for the centre’s swimming programme and creates a suitable environment for children, beginners and customers who may feel less confident in the main pool.
Swimming lessons are available through the Rivers Swim Academy, with options for children and adults at different stages of their swimming development. Eligible Wychavon residents can also access selected sessions through Wychavon District Council’s free swimming scheme. The scheme is available to residents aged under 16 or 60 and over. Registration must be completed at the centre, with ID and recent proof of address required.
Classes, sports & other activities
Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre continues to offer a programme of group exercise classes, including strength, cardio, cycling, yoga, Pilates and water based activities. The centre also provides racket and court sports, children’s activities and sessions designed to support different health and fitness needs.
Customers can view current activities and timetables here on our website, and also on our app. Advance booking will be required for some sessions.
External improvement works
The leisure centre is fully open, but some work is continuing outside the building.
Work is currently taking place in the front car park. Customers can still access the centre and should follow the temporary signs and directions provided when arriving or leaving the site. Wychavon District Council is also carrying out work on a new pump track. This is seperate from the leisure centre refurbishment and forms part of the ongoing improvements around the site.
These external works do not affect the centre’s normal opening hours. We appreciate customers’ patience while they are completed.
