Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre

We’re excited to see improvements to Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre and proud to be working with Wychavon District Council who are investing £15 million in to this refurbishment project. This page is your go-to place for the latest refurbishment updates, including timelines, temporary changes, and what you can expect during the works.

We'll be keeping this page updated regularly, so please check back for the most up-to-date information as the refurbishment progresses.

Important Updates

Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Front car park is closed.

  2. Disabled parking is available at the front of the marquee.

  3. Main (temporary) entrance is via the main hall, at the rear of the marquee.

  4. Reception is located at the bottom of the front stairs, opposite the lift.

  5. Our in house physiotherapy service has returned to the usual room downstairs, opposite squash court 2.

  6. Pool, health suite and wet side changing is closed from Monday 23rd February.

  7. Table tennis, squash and racquetball are available again.

  8. Classes, including virtual classes, are relocated to Studio 2, Squash Court 2 and the marquee.

  9. The gym has now reopened.

  10. The lift is currently not operational.

  11. Newly refurbished dry side changing rooms and toilets are available for use.

  12. Badminton, indoor netball, indoor football and Studio 1 remain unavailable. Reopening date for the sports hall and Studio 1 to be confirmed.

  13. The cafe is now closed until August. It will reopen at the front of the centre in a newly refurbished area currently under construction.

Evesham & Pershore Leisure Centres remain open as normal, so do get in touch with us if you’d like to explore alternative options.

We know how important the centre is to our members, and we’ll do everything we can to minimise disruption. You will also be guided and signposted where to go.

These upgrades will improve your safety, comfort and overall experience.

We’ll keep you updated throughout and confirm the reopening date as soon as we can.

  • BRAND NEW FACILITIES & FEATURES

    New Small/Learner Pool
    A brand new 12m x 8m learner pool with a depth of 0.9m–1.1m, designed to support swimming lessons, family swimming and water confidence sessions.

    New Café Area
    A larger café space positioned at the entrance of the centre, overlooking the new learner pool.

    New Reception Area
    A fully redesigned reception area including turnstiles and a fast-track entry system for easier access.

    New Treatment Rooms
    Two large treatment rooms plus an additional smaller nail-bar-style treatment room.

    Upgraded Plant & Building Systems
    Major improvements behind the scenes to improve comfort, efficiency and water quality, including:

    • New, more efficient boilers

    • New pool filtration systems with UV treatment

    • New air handling and air conditioning systems throughout the centre

    • Solar panels installed on the new pool roof

    • Air source heat pumps for more energy-efficient heating

    Lynxight AI Safety Technology
    AI-assisted technology will be installed in the main pool to support lifeguard supervision and enhance pool safety.

    Refurbished Areas

    Health Suite

    Refurbished tiling, upgraded sauna benches and improved lighting.

    Main Pool

    New lighting, a new resin pool surround replacing damaged tiles, and new balustrades separating pool and spectator areas.

    Changing Rooms

    Full refurbishment of the gym and swimming changing rooms, including:

    • New resin flooring

    • New showers and toilet facilities

    • Improved lighting

    • New air handling systems

    Car Parks

    The front and rear car parks will be resurfaced and remarked following completion of the indoor refurbishment, with additional disabled parking spaces included. (Car Park 1 was completed last year.)

    Gym

    Refurbished gym space including:

    • New lighting

    • Air conditioning

    • New flooring

    • Full decoration

    • Brand new gym equipment, including EGYM kit

    Squash Courts

    Refurbished floors and walls, alongside upgraded lighting already installed.

    Studios 1 & 2

    New lighting, air conditioning and upgraded sound systems.

    Main Sports Hall

    New lighting and air conditioning installed.

    Offices

    Refurbished office spaces with new lighting, air conditioning and full redecoration.

  • Please use the rear car park, including the new car park area at the rear of the centre.

  • The full refurbishment is expected to be completed by August 2026.

  • These upgrades are scheduled for after the main building works are completed in 2026.

  • As part of the works taking effect from 23rd February 2026, the pool, health suite and wet side changing will be closed to allow refurbishment to take place safely.

  • From 23rd February 2026 the main (temporary) entrance will be via the main hall at the rear of the marquee.

  • Yes, table tennis, squash and racquetball are available from 23rd February. Classes (including virtual classes) have been relocated to Studio 2, Squash Court 2 and the marquee.

  • The gym will be closed on 23rd & 24th February 2026 while it is moved back upstairs, and will reopen on 25th February (time to be confirmed).

  • The café will be closed from 23rd February until August 2026 while it is refurbished, and will reopen in a newly refurbished area at the front of the centre.

  • Some facilities such as badminton, indoor netball, indoor football and Studio 1 remain unavailable during the works. Reopening dates for these will be confirmed once available.
