on Monday 16th June, the last layer of tarmac is being laid. This will mean that there won’t be any access up to the football pavilion lane/pavilion car park for the day. Depending on the weather, it will re-open for our evening bookings. If it is hot, it will take longer to set, so our evening bookings might have to park on the rear car park and walk up to the pitches.

Important Notice: Temporary Facility Closures from 21st July

As part of planned building improvements at Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre, some facilities will be temporarily unavailable from

Monday 21st July for approximately 20 weeks.

The following activities will be affected:

  • Badminton

  • Pickleball

  • Squash/Racketball

  • Virtual Classes

  • Indoor Netball (astro turf option may be available)

  • Indoor Football (astro turf option may be available)

Some of these facilities are still available at our Pershore and Evesham sites, so please get in touch if you'd like to explore those options.

We know how important the centre is to our members and we will do everything we can to minimise disruption. These upgrades will help us improve safety, comfort and your overall experience.

Phase 1 - Overflow Car Park (In Progress)

Timeline: Now until June 2025 (Phase 1)

The current overflow area is being converted into a permanent car park, adding 250+ extra spaces.

This will support parking for outdoor facilities, including pitch use and match days.

Expected completion: June 2025

Phase 2 – Front & Rear Car Parks

The front and rear car parks will be upgraded after the main building works are completed in 2026.

INDOOR CENTRE UPGRADES

Phase 1 – Starts End of July 2025

Refurbishment of internal areas begins, including the gym and fitness spaces.

Gym and fitness classes will temporarily move into the main hall, with a marquee added to provide extra space.

Squash, badminton and pickleball will be unavailable during this time.

The pool, health suite and café will remain open during this time.

Duration: approx. 20 weeks

Phase 2

(Follows Phase 1)

Swimming pool and health suite will close for refurbishment.

During this time, a new learner pool, café and brand new treatment rooms will be built.

Areas closed in Phase 1 will reopen once this phase begins.

Duration: approx. 20 weeks

Estimated timeline: February/March 2026

PROJECT COMPLETION

All refurbishment works are due to be completed by August – September 2026.

  • The full refurbishment is expected to be completed by August - September 2026.

  • Phase 1 covers the conversion of the overflow area into a permanent car park with 250+ extra spaces, supporting outdoor facility use. This phase is currently in progress and due to be completed by June 2025.

  • These upgrades are scheduled for after the main building works are completed in 2026.

  • Indoor works begin at the end of July 2025.

  • They will be temporarily moved into the sports hall, with a marquee providing additional space.

  • Yes, squash, badminton and pickleball will be unavailable during Phase 1.
