Droitwich Lido FAQs

‘My Visit’ Questions:

  • We always recommend* booking (available 2 days in advance). This can be done via our mobile app.

*We do take drop ins, however on hot days we will be unlikely to have spaces.

If you are having issues booking online, we are able to take bookings from the front desk or over the phone: 01905 799342 (please be aware that we are extra stretched on hot days & unlikely to be able to take calls)

  • We have 1 hour width swims & 2 hour family swims available.

If you wish to do more than 2 hours swimming, we do allow people to book back to back swim sessions (max 2 sessions) for a 4 hour swim, however you will be charged in full for both swims & be required to wait in our cafe during the 30 minute cleaning & change over period.

We recommend filling your day out with a picnic in the park or bite to eat at Little Al’s Kitchen, then a play in park (free tennis courts are available) or a walk along the amazing canal.

  • There is a pay & display cark park right at the lido. Pay in cash or via RingGo.

If the lido car park is full, there are plenty of other car parks nearby, view them by clicking here.

  • Yes, we do allow food and soft drinks to be brought into the facility, however there is Little Al’s Kitchen on site which offers a selection of snacks, beverages and ice creams.

Alcohol is not permitted within the lido premises & anyone deemed intoxicated will not be allowed in.

  • There is spectating area that can be accessed through the café, however you will not be able to come into the lido pool area & your family will be unable to access this area without coming out of the lido. We are unable to police who has & hasn’t paid to swim once in this area so unable to allow poolside spectators (unless full standard rate is paid).

Under 8s will need a parent in the water with them at all times (maximum of 2 under 8s to each adult).

  • We allow small swim toys such as dive sticks, as well as beach balls & other small inflatables. We also have a range of these products available to purchase on your visit.

Larger inflatables like lilos & donuts are not allowed during hot days due to space, however on cooler days it is at the discretion of the lido manager.

  • We do, however we have a limited quantity so if able we recommend bringing your own chairs. Benches are also available.

  • We do allow photos to be taken, however please be respectful of others privacy.

  • Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult (aged 16 or over), maximum of two under 8’s per adult.

If any children over the age of 8 is seen swimming with a lack of swim ability (without supervision), they maybe asked to stay within the shallow end of the pool for safety or asked to leave.

  • A Lido Family Ticket will allow admission for 2 Adults and 2 Children, or 1 Adult and 3 Children.

    A Family Ticket costs £28.

Pool Questions:

  • Small amounts of chlorine is used alongside the natural brine to maintain water clarity.

  • Whilst our brine is amazing, brine is known to make water rather cloudy and our lifeguards need to be able to see the bottom of the pool. Using chlorine keeps the water crystal clear, making the lido safer for everybody.

  • We try to keep the Lido pool water salinity to the same as sea water which is 35 PPT (parts per thousand). Although backwashing of the pool and evaporation dilute the salinity requiring us to top up brine levels throughout the season.

  • Yes it is heated during our summer months, to a warm mediterranean 23° to 26°
