Celebrating our Quarter 1 Staff Recognition Award winner

We’re proud to continue celebrating the incredible people who make Rivers what it is through our Staff Recognition Award, highlighting colleagues who go above and beyond in their roles.

We’re delighted to announce that the Quarter 1 2026 recipient is Simon Tustin, Duty Manager at Pershore Leisure Centre.

A fantastic example of Rivers values in action

Simon was nominated for demonstrating outstanding empathy and passion while responding to a major incident earlier this year.

During what could have been a stressful situation, Simon remained calm, professional and reassuring throughout, providing support to those involved and ensuring everything was handled with care and confidence.

His ability to stay composed under pressure and put others at ease is a true reflection of the values we strive for across all our centres.

Simon’s nomination highlighted not just his professionalism, but the way he approaches situations with genuine care and understanding.

Moments like these make a real difference to both customers and colleagues, and it’s this level of dedication that the Rivers Staff Recognition Award is all about.

The Executive Team had a difficult decision this quarter, with several strong nominations received, but Simon stood out for his exceptional handling of the situation and the way he represented Rivers.
