How to Keep Moving and Look After Yourself This Summer
Summer can be a busy time. With school holidays, time off work and a general shift in routine, it’s so easy to let regular exercise or self-care take a back seat. But staying active doesn’t have to mean hours in the gym or sticking to a strict schedule. At Rivers, we’re here to help you keep things simple (and realistic!).
Our centres offer flexible ways to stay active that fit around you, even if you’re short on time or just getting back into the swing of things.
Start Small (It Still Counts!)
There’s often pressure to do it all… commit to a full routine, go several times a week or push yourself constantly. But that’s not always practical, and it’s not necessary to feel the benefits.
Even short, consistent sessions can help improve your mood, reduce stress and support your overall wellbeing. Thaat might be:
A 30 minute swim before or after work
A gym session at lunchtime
A low impact class that gets you moving without overdoing it
A quiet sauna session to help reset after a long day
Just showing up for a change of scenery and some movement
And remember, there’s no “right way” to look after our physical and mental health, just find what works for you right now.
Flexible Options That Work Around You
We know that not everyone wants to commit to a full membership, especially over the summer. That’s why all our centres offer pay-as-you-go access alongside memberships.
You can drop in when it suits you. No pressure, no long term commitment, and still access a wide range of facilities:
Fully equipped gym with strength and cardio equipment
Indoor swimming pools for lane swimming, casual sessions and family time
Droitwich Spa Lido, our outdoor heated pool, now open for the summer season
Group fitness classes including yoga, strength, cardio and more
Sauna and steam room facilities at selected centres
Our timetables include early morning, daytime and evening sessions, so you can find something that fits your schedule, whatever it looks like for you.
Support Whenever You Need It
If it’s been a while since you last visited, or you’re not sure where to start, our teams are happy to help. If it’s advice on using the gym equipment, choosing the right class or how to make a booking or anything else, we’re here to support you.
You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need to go five times a week. You just need to take one step.
Make Time for Yourself
It’s easy to put your own needs to one side when things get more busy. But taking time out to move, breathe and reset can make a big difference, not just physically but mentally too!
Whatever your goals are, feeling more energised, reducing stress, building strength or maybe it’s just finding a healthy habit that fits into your daily life, we can help you get there at your own pace.
Take a look at your local centres timetable and book in when you’re ready.
