Helping Young People Get Active at Our Boys Festival

Yesterday, Evesham Leisure Centre hosted a successful Boys Festival, welcoming 27 students from TDMS and Prince Henry’s for an afternoon of sport, activity and leadership development.

The festival was funded and organised in partnership with Wyre Forest School Sport Partnership and Pal Fitness, with the aim of encouraging young people to try new activities, build confidence and stay active.

Throughout the event, the boys rotated around four different sessions, spending 25 minutes taking part in each activity before moving on to the next.

The activities included:

  • Pickleball, delivered by our Recreation Assistants

  • Circuit training with Ben Carter

  • Boxing with Charlie Priddey

  • A leadership session led by Emma from the Mason Foundation

The sessions were very well received, with lots of positive feedback collected at the end of the day. Pickleball proved especially popular amongst the group and could present exciting opportunities for future sessions and funding initiatives.

Each participant was also given a free one day pass to return and use at the centre.

We’d like to thank everyone involved in organising and delivering the festival, as well as the schools for attending and supporting the event. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and engagement from all of the boys involved!
