Achieving Disability Confident Leader Status
We’re proud to announce that we’ve achieved Disability Confident Leader status (Level 3) under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.
The accreditation recognises organisations that are committed to championing disability inclusion within the workplace and wider community, while actively supporting disabled people in employment and accessibility.
As part of achieving Disability Confident Leader status, we completed an independantly validated assessment process and demonstrated it commitment across several key areas including inclusive recruitment, workplace accessibility, employee wellbeing, reasonable adjustments, advocacy and equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Disability Leaders are required to:
Champion disability inclusion within their communities and industries
Support and mentor other organisations
Promote inclusive and accessible recruitment practices
Publicly report on disability, mental health and wellbeing
We have continued to strengthen our inclusive approach across our centres, services and workforce. Recent initiatives include neurodivergence awareness training for Duty Managers, Mental Health First Aiders across the organisation and ongoing work to improve accessibility and inclusivity for customers, staff and the wider community.
The achievement reflects our wider commitment to creating welcoming, accessible and supportive environments for all, both within the workplace and across our leisure facilities and community programmes.
