A Parent’s Guide to Visiting Rivers PlayZone

Planning a visit to soft play should feel easy, not stressful.

Whether it’s your first time visiting Rivers PlayZone or you just want to know what to expect, this guide covers everything you need to know to make your visit smooth, enjoyable (and worth it!).

What Is Rivers PlayZone?

Rivers PlayZone is our dedicated indoor soft play area designed for babies, toddlers and younger children.

It’s split into age appropriate zones so children can explore, move, and play safely:

  • A baby sensory area for the youngest visitors

  • A toddler zone for climbing, sliding, and exploring

  • A junior play area with multi level features for more active play

It’s designed to be a space where children can burn off energy while parents can relax knowing they’re in a safe, clean environment.

Before You Visit

A little bit of planning can make your visit much easier.

Booking
We recommend booking your session in advance where possible, especially during weekends and school holidays when it can get busy.

Best times to visit

  • Quieter sessions are usually during weekday mornings

  • Peak times are weekends and rainy days

What to bring

  • Socks for both children and adults (required in the play area)

  • Water or a drink

  • Comfortable clothing for your child to move in

What to Expect When You Arrive

When you arrive at the centre:

  • Check in at reception

  • You’ll be guided to the PlayZone area

  • Staff are on hand if you need help or have any questions

Sessions are structured to keep numbers at a safe and comfortable level, so it never feels overcrowded.

During Your Session

PlayZone is designed for free play, so children can explore at their own pace.

You’ll notice:

  • A mix of climbing, sliding, balancing, and sensory activities

  • Clearly defined areas for different age groups

  • A relaxed, friendly atmosphere

Parents and carers are responsible for supervising their children, but the layout makes it easy to keep an eye on them.

Tips for a Better Experience

A few simple tips can make a big difference:

  • Arrive on time so you get the full session

  • Encourage breaks if your child gets overwhelmed or tired

  • Avoid peak times if your child prefers a quieter environment

  • Let them explore! They don’t need to use everything straight away

Why Soft Play Is More Than Just Fun

Soft play isn’t just about keeping kids entertained.

It helps children:

  • Build confidence through independent play

  • Develop coordination and balance

  • Improve social skills by interacting with others

  • Burn off energy in a safe environment

It’s a simple way to support their development while giving you a bit of breathing space too.

Making It Part of Your Routine

Many families visit PlayZone regularly, not just as a one off treat.

It can be a great option for:

  • Rainy days

  • After nursery or school

  • Meeting other parents

  • Keeping younger children active
