Gifted & Talented Scheme
Wychavon is home to many gifted athletes from a range of disciplines including cycling, hockey, sailing, running, motor racing and canoeing. It is even home to a Team GB Paralympic swimmer in Rebecca Redfearn!
Rivers Fitness sponsor elite athletes who live within the district and work with them in their training and recovery regimes. A number of local athletes have benefitted from this scheme and the volume of athletes in the area is fantastic to see! We are always looking for new talented kids & adults, so think you’ve got what it takes to be part of the Gifted & Talented Scheme?

The Different Stages We Offer:
Bronze
A reduced monthly membership fee of £20 per month.
If accepted, we expect from you:
- Short 6 monthly updates via email
- Follow us on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram
- A photo of you in your ‘Team Rivers’ tshirt – shared on socials
Silver
A reduced monthly membership fee of £10 per month.
If accepted, we expect from you:
- + Everything stated in Bronze
- A short online profile linking to your socials/website
- Regular sharing of our posts or mentioning in your fitness posts
Gold
A FREE monthly membership.
If accepted, we expect from you:
- + Everything stated in Bronze & Silver
- One blog a year – can be on your sporting achievements or some fitness related advice/motivation
- One video a year – whether thats a testimonial or a workout video (filmed by us)

Rebecca Redfern Para-Swimmer
Rebecca is a Team GB Paralympic swimmer, with a European & Paralympic Silver Medal, as well as a World Champion.

Helen Russell Triathlete
Helen is a multi-sport athlete, who has won numerous championships & awards.

Heather Paton Hurdles
Heather shone in the UK Women’s League Premier Division 2019 to clock 13.34 seconds in 100m hurdles, which broke the Scottish record.

Alex Doherty Duathlete
Alex competes in standard distance Duathlon for Great Britain. He first got into Duathlon in September 2015 & been winning competitions ever since.

Josh Whatley Motosport
Josh is an exceptional talented Motosport racer. Josh’s titles include three times British champion, 2nd place in the GP70 2016 championship, and double world champion.

John & Natasza McClay Dragon Boating
Husband-&-wife pair, John & Natasza, won gold medals at the International Dragon Boat Federation Club Crew World Championships, as part of the Purple Warriors – an injured veterans team representing Great Britain.

Patrick Heeks Swimmer
This past year, Gifted & Talent member, Patrick has earned himself some amazing achievements including a gold medal at the Swim England National Championships.

Michael MacLeod Hockey
Michael take a huge leap in his career, with his nomination and acceptance on to DiSE (Diploma in Sporting Excellence), This was due to Michael’s impeccable high-level performance.

Antonia Payne-Cheney Para-Cheerleading
Atonia suffers from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, despite this she is an outstanding para-cheer & it’s great that we can support her training!

Antony Fordham Tennis
Antony plays for the County Cup team with a rating of 5.1 & hopes to continue his progress throughout 2020 with the support of Rivers
