Inspiring Active & Healthy Lifestyles
At Rivers Fitness, we aim to make health and fitness accessible to everybody within the local community. There are programmes available for those on low incomes, those with restricted mobility and those who are recovering from a health scare or physical injury. If you can’t make it to our centres, there are also a range of outreach programmes available.

We work with local GPs and Health Professionals who refer patients to a 12 week programme run by qualified exercise and health professionals based at Rivers’ Leisure centres.

Rivers began providing light exercise classes at assisted living facilities in late 2016.
The sessions have proven to be extremely popular at their current locations, so much so that the list of venues is always expanding. Outreach programmes are now available at a range of locations including youth centres, care homes and remote areas where people cannot access the centre itself.
Nigel Grundy, Fitness Manager at Rivers Fitness, helped arrange the classes and says “We feel that it’s very important for people of all ages and abilities to lead active, healthy lifestyles. Providing exercise close to peoples’ homes really helps those who would otherwise remain inactive and we hope to reach out to even more people in the future”.

COPD rehab classes are designed for people who are severely breathless. In this class you will learn how to exercise safely & at the right level for you. Every Monday at 9:30am – 10:30am.
“When I started the class, I could barely walk 500 metres before becoming too breathless to continue. By the end of six weeks, I could walk 1500 metres. It’s not about getting better – it’s about living better with my condition” – John (Reference from British Lung Foundation)
It builds confidence and it’s great fun meeting others in a similar situation. All classes are supervised by a trained COPD instructor. The instructor is also trained in First Aid & CPR.

Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre:
Full day walks are held every Tuesday. We also arrange a local morning’s walk on at least one Thursday of each month. All walks start at 9:30am from the car park.
Evesham Leisure Centre:
Regular FREE, short led walks across the Vale of Evesham. Just turn up!
Pershore Leisure Centre:

Rivers Cardiac Rehab programme is for:
- People who have suffered a heart attack, or undergone heart surgery, require help in two main areas:
- Resuming full activity as quickly and safely as possible
- Protection from a recurrence of heart trouble
How does it work?
All patients are encouraged to attend Rehab classes on discharge. GP referrals can also be made.
- Phase I (Inpatient) and Phase 2 (early post discharge) are routine programmes normally delivered in the hospital or at home.
- Phase 3 and Phase 4 lead to supervised and graduated exercise programmes delivered by Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab.
Weekly classes run at Evesham Leisure Centre. These are one hour sessions which take place during the afternoon on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays.

ICS Diabetes Prevention Programme
Our Diabetes Prevention Programme consists of a mixture of 1-to-1 and group sessions delivered by our specially trained health and wellbeing coaches. Available at Evesham & Droitwich.
The programme is a total of 11 sessions.Throughout the programme participants learn how to prevent diabetes by incorporating healthier eating, physical activity, problem-solving, stress-reduction and coping skills into their daily lives.
Rivers Fitness sponsors a range of events in the community including triathlons and half marathons.
As well as providing an ideal starting point and home for race HQ, we have supplied packs for participants and offered toilet and storage services for everybody involved.

Working World Evesham is a training centre for people with a learning disability who need a little extra support getting into the workplace. In addition to the work activities, they provide a range of physical & social activities.
Working world are regularly using our gym, studio & swimming facilities on a Tuesday, & it’s great that we get so many of the group coming in their free time too!

Rooftop Job Coaches
We work with Rooftop Housing Group to bring their Job Coaches into our centres. Their Job Coaches will be able to offer you the support & training to help you find a job, They are perfect if you are currently unemployed & looking for a job but not sure where to start. They will provide courses, help write CVs & prepare you for interviews.
